With a little help from the Marines and the Los Angeles-based charity Spirit of America, Iraqi women in Ar Ramadi will now be able to work at a local sewing center. Lt. Col. John Lutkenhouse reports that the sewing centers are all about giving women the means to “earn money” and gain greater “social empowerment.”
